Mike started his publishing career in Indiana at the Terre Haute Tribune Star newspaper in the late 70's. From there he moved to Standard Publishing Company in Cincinnati as Director of Editorial Production. While there he implemented one of the first electronic production systems after the invention of the Macintosh. Mike then went to Macmillan Computer Publishing as Vice President of Production and then became Founder and Publisher of Hayden Books and Adobe Press, a very successful joint publishing venture between Macmillan and Adobe Systems. In 1993 Mike moved to New York as Senior Vice President of HarperCollins Publishing, the book publishing division of News Corporation owned by Rupert Murdoch. While at HarperCollins he worked with divisions worldwide in the area of Publishing Technology and Best Practices. In 1996 Mike moved to California as Vice President of IDG Books Worldwide leading the production and content management of the "For Dummies" series, Betty Crocker Cookbooks, Cliffs Notes, and many other well known imprints. In 1999 Mike transitioned to the printing industry as Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Officer for ePAC.com, a venture funded on-demand digital printing startup. There he helped develop innovative workflows and strategies that will mold the Publishing Industry of the future.

Windy Johnson is a freelance Production Editor. She has worked in the publishing industry, and specifically the college text book publishing industry, for several years now. She has worked as a Production Editor for both Pine Forge Press in Thousand Oaks, California, and Mayfield Publishing Company in Mountain View, California. As a Production Editor, Windy was responsible for and managed the entire book production process from manuscript to bound book. She graduated from Pepperdine University in three and a half years with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Spanish. |

Steve Herold has been in the publishing and bookselling business for over 40 years and is the founder and research director of Books AtoZ. He has worked as a book designer, printer, publisher, bookseller and digital publisher and is the author of numerous articles and books on publishing and digital technologies. He is currently involved in developing 21st century methods for cataloging and delivering information.
